When we moved to Spain and visited Portugal I could not understand the Portugese at all! I find that Portugues do Brasil is much clearer for a foreigner to understand as there is less ellision of consonants and it’s spoken at a slightly slower pace.

From what I understand in your post and here as well https://www.lusaschool.com/blog/european-portuguese-vs-brazilian-portuguese/ is that sometimes the Portuguese people may not understand some sentences in Brazilian Portuguese. Is that right?
